Sometimes known as progressive lenses, they are commonly referred to as multifocal contact lenses, i.e. those that allow you to see clearly at any distance and they are designed to correct presbyopia. Presbyopia is not a disease, but the progressive loss of focusing power that affects many people as they get older.

Many people are often reluctant to make the change to a new type of lens. If you're hesitant, our post on the best multifocal contact lenses will be a great help. Take a look at our top products and find the one that best suits your needs from our website!

Multifocal contact lenses

Air Optix Plus Hydraglyde Multifocal

Our list begins with Air Optix Plus Hydraglyde Multifocal contact lenses from one of the industry's leading manufacturers, Alcon. These are monthly contact lenses that are made from a material that allows for easy breathability and for oxygen to flow continuously through them.

In addition, this product features two advanced technologies that will be highly beneficial to you: Smartshield Technology and HydraGlyde® Moisture Matrix. These protect your eyes against corneal deposits and keep moisture on the lens surface for longer. There's no better way to start with our selection of the best multifocal contact lenses.

Biofinity Multifocal

For this second choice, we opted for lenses from CooperVision, a manufacturer with a lot of experience. We can consider their Biofinity Multifocal to be one of the best multifocal lenses available today. They have all the benefits of silicone hydrogel technology, as well as technologies that keep the lenses naturally moist to guarantee excellent vision correction.

They're ideal for preventing eye irritation and eye fatigue, which can be common with some lenses of poorer quality. Say goodbye to the problems you've been having with near and distance vision and buy one of the best multifocal lenses you'll find today.

PureVision 2 for Presbyopia

The PureVision 2 lenses from Bausch & Lomb are specially designed for people who are looking for a quick and effective solution to presbyopia, as they were developed precisely for this purpose. They fit easily on the eye and have thin, rounded edges, making them ultra-comfortable for all-day wear.

In fact, did you know that they're designed so that you don't have to take them off for 30 days straight? Yes, this means you can leave them in even at night - we're sure they'll be amongst your top choices when it comes to choosing the best multifocal contact lenses!

Dailies AquaComfort Plus Multifocal

Another one of Alcon's standout products is Dailies AquaComfort Plus Multifocal. Their quality design provides wearers with corrected vision at short, intermediate and long distances, as they contain these three differentiated fields of vision. They're perfect for those who suffer from presbyopia.

We also rank them amongst the best multifocal contact lenses because they use a technology that releases moisture with every blink, so they're extremely comfortable and help to stabilise the tear film. Is this the option you've hoping for or do you still want to find out more?

They're designed to ensure a smooth visual transition between near and far vision, and they have an aspheric posterior surface so they fit snugly to your eye.

Dailies Total 1 Multifocal

Dailies Total 1 Multifocal from Alcon should be one of your top choices if you suffer from presbyopia, as they're another lens designed specifically for this purpose. Thanks to their water gradient technology, they glide smoothly and comfortably over the wearer's eye - comfort will last all day and you won't even notice you're wearing them!

    Thanks
This is 1st blog in many months that was absolutely helpful. I want contacts but with my progressive prescription I haven’t had much luck and you just can’t keep buying different brands. I had numerous problems years ago and gave but your blog has given me the courage to try again. Even the websites that sell them do not offer as much detail as here
