The 9 Best Halloween Makeup Inspirations

banner

Halloween is one of those events that are worth planning ahead. It's one of those times of the year when it's particularly cool to play around with your makeup. More and more people are celebrating Halloween, often because it gives them the opportunity to practice their makeup skills.

We would like to give you 9 Halloween makeup inspirations for this year. Of course, coloured contact lenses are the perfect companion of a Halloween costume, so see for yourself how you can best combine crazy lenses with a scary costume.

1. CALAVERAS ~ SUGAR SKULLS

This look is a floral version of the Skull makeup, ideal for October the 31st, based on the Mexican „Day of the Dead“ decorations.

Sugar Skulls

How do you create a Sugar Skull makeup?

As a primer, your first layer should resemble a skull, by applying white makeup. Then you can circle around your mouth, eyes and nose with black lines – the areas where the skull is normally hollow. You can fill the circles with any colour.

In addition, you can paint flowers around the eyes and on the cheeks. So where a real skull normally is hollow, you can develop your creativity by painting colourful ornaments. Try to imagine this as a creative mandala!

2. GANGSTER CLOWN

This makeup looks very professional and is actually quite quick to apply. Focus mainly on the eyes and your mouth!

How to create a Ganster Clown makeup:

Prime the eyes and half of the face with light pink. Now draw a black curved line in the middle of the face – like a border to separate the pink from the normal part. The eyes can be made up in Smokey Eye style. Now draw lines from your eyes downwards for a more dramatic result. The same applies to the eyebrows, as you can see in the picture.

Last but not least, darken your lips with black lipstick and draw a line from the corner of your mouth on both sides. This make-up, along with BlackOut coloured contacts will surely delight all guests at the Halloween party. A checkered shirt will look cool with this make-up. You can also tie a headscarf around your head to complete the Gangster Clown look.

3. WHITE WALKER

Now it's getting extra scary – with the simple but stunning White Walker look!

WHITE WALKER

This is what you need for a White Walker look:

Cover your face, neck, lips and ears with white make-up with a sponge and make sure you keep your eyes clear. Draw a circle around the eyelid and fill the area with black.

Then you can start adding thin lines by using a thin brush to draw wrinkles with black makeup. Add lines until you are satisfied. The makeup should look unstructured and chaotic, so don't worry about precision.

4. PUMPKIN

Well, we all know Pumpkins aren't really scary … but look at this makeup! The details are incredible – they definitely give the pumpkin a different look.

All you need is:

Simply apply eye shadow and draw a curved, expressive line with eyeliner, similar to a smoky eye. Draw a few more dots on the eyelid and the eye area is ready. Use orange colour for the lower half of your face.

Then paint the mouth with a wide, long black form, like a half-moon. Now the lines can be painted in different lengths upwards and downwards.

5. WEREWOLF

Everyone knows that werewolves come out once a month when the full moon rises. Let's see how we can create a great Halloween Werewolf makeup.

Werewolf

For the Werewolf makeup you need:

Cover the upper and lower eyelid with dark brown eyeshadow and line the inner corner of each eye with black eyeliner. Then you should add a little white shadow just under the eyebrow and blend. Brush your eyebrows upward using clear mascara.

Then draw a black shadow underneath the tip of the nose and along the bottom edges of the nostrils, down to the cupid's bow. Paint the entire lip with burgundy red lipstick and add small dots there to pretend you've just had a bloody meal. To achieve an extra spooky look, wear Lentiamo's Twilight contacts and consider buying vampire fangs.

6. SKULL

The Skull makeup can be complicated like the one to the right, but we can teach you a way to keep it simple. It will still be impressive, believe us!

Skull

This is how you create a Skull makeup:

Draw a circle around your eyes and fill it with black cream eyeshadow or face paint. Make sure the colour goes over your eyebrows. Use the same black colour on your nose.

For the rest of your face just use a light powder to make your face as white as possible. For the teeth use black lipstick and draw vertical lines over your mouth. You can use dark powder on your cheekbones if you like.

Then, simply choose our ColourVUE Crazy Lens White Zombie!

7. MERMAID

This inspiration will be helpful for those who prefer a sweet and romantic look for this year's Halloween party.

Mermaid

What do you need for a perfect Mermaid makeup?

Your face is first primed with light colour. In the next step the scales are painted, which is the most characteristic feature of the Mermaid makeup. They are very easy to readjust, with simple fishnet tights! Pull the fishnet tights over your head and dab coloured eyeshadow (e.g. turquoise) with a powder brush, over and over again on the skin where you'd like to achieve the fish-scale effect. Apply the same eyeshadow to your eyelids.

Complete the eye makeup with eyeliner, put on eyelashes to intensify the look and fill your eyebrows with purple eyeshadow. You can also add some shimmer and glitter to your brows. Lastly find a matching lipstick, a suitable wig and use coloured lenses like the Barbie Pink. You could also use a makeup fixer, this way the scales will stay clean and sharp.

8. STAPLED FACE

The creepily squeezed and stapled nose is spooky enough to conjure up a perfect Halloween mask.

Here's what you need for a stapled face:

Buy modelling wax and artificial blood in advance. Create a sausage-like shape with the wax by rolling the material in your hands. Then put it on your nose.

Blend in the edges using a spatula, which is usually included with the wax. Apply the foundation to the skin and fix it with transparent, loose powder.

Then use a toothpick to dig a vertical line into the wax. Apply blood to the slit and dab blue, green and dark red eye shadow around the nose and eyes to create fake bruises. Finally, use small clamps and place them very carefully one after the other on your nose. Here's your stapled face!

9. DEVIL

You might have been born with devilishly good looks, but becoming demonic isn't as easy as it seems. Lucky you – we can tell you how to get this look!

Devil

How do you create a devil-inspired makeup?

It is up to you whether you want to cover your whole face with red makeup, or not. It is best to use a sponge. You can start by choosing the placement of your first devil's horn, which you then apply with spirit gum or other skin-friendly glue. Repeat with the other horn. If your horns look too dry you can add fake blood.

Use dark red lipstick and apply the blood as if it was dripping from the mouth. A smokey eye the most appropriate style for this mask.

And for the special final touch, wear the Devil Red lenses, for that 100 per cent devilish look.
